Sight
is a truly incredible sense : it is the result of the collaboration
of the various parts of your eye, all working together. The eye
functions like a camera. The cornea, the transparent face of your
eye, and the crystalline lens ensure the image is in focus. The
iris, the colored part of your eye, expands or contracts to regulate
the amount of light passing through to the retina. The retina
is a thin layer covering the internal wall of the eye, which acts
like a photographic film. A clear image is obtained through a
precise focus of the light on the retina. The image is then turned
into electrical impulses that travel through the optic nerve to
your central intelligence : the brain.
