The technology of the Intralase laser relies on femtochemistry, a technology that received the Nobel Prize of chemistry in 1999. The laser uses femtoseconds impulses to produce an incision in the cornea. This cut has increased precision, better predictability and therefore more safety than blade-generated cuts.

Side effects

The IntraLase technique is a completely blade-less procedure. Therefore all blade related side-effects are eliminated. Other than these excluded complications, IntraLase has the same possible side-effects as a Lasik procedure.
